1986 Cabernet Sauvignon, Backus Vineyard
Winemaker Notes A young and intense wine with deep color and plenty of flavors; its ripe cherry, currant and spice flavors offer a touch of methol and oak on the finish.
Winemaking Data Grapes were harvested at an average of 23.0° Brix, fermented in stainless steel tanks, and aged 11 months in 60-gallon French oak barrels before being blended, fined with fresh egg whites, and bottled in May 1988.
