1982 Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker Notes The vintage provided a number of surprises for North coast vintners beginning with an unusually warm spring and ending after one of the longest growing seasons in years. The moderate temperatures during bloom and set - the spring pollination of the grape flower and subsequent formation of the berry clusters - caused unusually high crop yields, while the following summer months were cool and foggy, perfect conditions for the high acid and moderate sugar levels we like to see in our Cabernet fruit at harvest. The result is a lively, well-balanced wine, delicious now.
