1980 Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker Notes There's already a great deal of interest in the 1980 Napa Valley Cabernets and it's fully justified based upon our tasting of many of them. Our 1980 is a blend with 13% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc and, at this stage its lean, tightly knit and in sharp contrast to the broad, early maturing 1979.
Winemaking Data Grapes were harvested at an average of 23.5° Brix and aged 22 months in 60-gallon French oak barrels before being blended, fined with fresh egg whites, and bottled in August 1982.
