2019 Chardonnay, Freestone Vineyards
Winemaker Notes The 2019 Chardonnay has an abundance of floral character, crushed rock, and citrus notes. The palate is filled with lemon zest and freshly sliced pear, tangy acidity, and a layered finish rich in mineral and briny undertones.
Winemaking Data The fruit is picked during the cool Sonoma Coast evenings and whole cluster pressed to barrel for fermentation. The barrels were minimally stirred, creating a balanced, focused wine driven by a creamy texture and freshness.
Vintage Notes The 2019 growing season was marked by heavy February rains, saturating the Sonoma Coast soils. Spring continued a wet cycle with rain during flowering and mild, cool temperatures into the early summer months. Grapes experienced an extended ripening season with harvest starting one to two weeks later than usual in most blocks. The long, cool 2019 growing season allowed the fruit to develop full flavor profiles with naturally fresh acidity and superb balance.Shop Current Releases
