New Release: 2017 Ovation Sparkling Wine
Celebrate summer with our latest vintage of Ovation Sparkling Wine!
This second vintage of Ovation is 78% Chardonnay and 22% Pinot Noir from our Freestone Estate on the Sonoma Coast. The wine was aged en tirage for 46 months before disgorging in April.
The wine opens with stone fruit essence, ripe green apple, lemon peel and toasted brioche followed by light floral and flinty notes. Texturally refined and creamy with layers of lemon custard, apricot, and a pleasing saline character. A wine of great acid structure and tension that will continue to evolve with cellaring.
We asked Winemaker Justin Ennis about the 2017 vintage earlier this year, “I really love the tension and vibrant acid structure of the 2017. This vintage was aged eight months longer than the 2015 and the finished wine has a slightly lower dosage level too. The wine has really delicate small bubbles with a vinous mouth feel and I appreciate the layers of intense lemon and toasty brioche. I can’t wait to share it with our fans this summer.”
