Review
"The single-vineyard Backus Cabernet Sauvignon, from a beautifully sloped site overlooking the Oakville Crossroads, sandwiched between Screaming Eagle and Dalla Valle, seems to be coming back even stronger after a replanting of the vineyard. It is aged in 100% new French Taransaud and Darnajou barrels. Full-bodied, powerful and rich, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard boasts a rich, sumptuous bouquet of graphite, blueberries, truffles, and damp earth. With an almost inky intensity, it will benefit from another 2-3 years of bottle age, and should drink well for two decades."
