2013 Fogdog Rosé

100% Grenache from Monterey, California.
Grapes were sorted and crushed upon arrival and soaked on skins for twenty-four hours. The free-run juice was drained and skins were pressed. Both free-run and pressed juices were fermented together in stainless steel. The wine was bottled in February 2014.
The Fogdog Grenache Rosé is completely dry with bright notes of hibiscus, fresh picked wild strawberries and raspberries, hints of tamarind and laced with floral tones. The palate is bright and fresh with balanced acidity and fruit characteristics followed by a long, creamy finish.
The King City area of Monterey County boasts a diverse soil mix and is known to have a semi-arid, almost Mediterranean climate. The summers are dry and warm with occassional early morning fog followed by cool, wet winters.
The 2013 growing season began with early bud break followed by a typically warm summer and early harvest season. Fruit was evenly ripened with intensely concentrated flavors.
